- Breadbox Computing Company, the present copyright holders of the GEOS
suite of programs has released the Apple II versions of the software into
the Freeware domain.  A proprietary graphical operating system, the suite
includes word processing, spreadsheet and database functions.  Note that
the files are in IBM-style .zip formats and unzip to .gz files.  The
program can be downloaded from:

If you don't have access to the internet or don't want to download files,
A.P.P.L.E. is distributing the suite on CD-ROM.  Check out their website

- The Apple II Emulator for Palm v0.62 has been released. Offering support
for Apple IIe emulation, the program allows you to run Apple II software
including games on your Palm.  The new version now offers 80 column card
support.  The emulator is free and open source under GNU Licenses and can
be downloaded at:

- Virtual ][, the Apple emulator that runs under Mac OSX has been updated
to version 2.0.  Besides bug fixes, the new version offers users emulation
of an enhanced Apple //e, 64k/80-column expansion card "usage," as well as
mouse card emulation, and full-screen support.  The program offers the
user multiple window display sizes, as well as configurable support for
the game I/O connector.  The program can be downloaded from:

- Jeff Fink, the author of the very-popular program Silvern Castle has
announced that he will soon be releasing version7.6. Written in BASIC, the
new version will incorporate a character utility that lets you transfer
characters from party to party and undelete accidentally deleted
characters.  Plans are to release the new version sometime in September.

  
- Rich Dreher has announced that he has sold almost half of the current
run of CompactFlash for Apple II interface cards.  This very popular
data-storage option has proven to be very stable and useful on slotted
Apple II enhanced computers.  Information regarding the card and ordering

- Marinetti 3.0b1 is now being sold on CD-ROM by Syndicomm.  This program
allows Apple IIGS user to access Internet services via TCP/IP.  The new
package offers a CD-ROM in HFS and Joliet formats for use on a GS, Mac or
Windows machine, as well as offering a bound, paper manual.  The package
costs $25.00; ordering information may be obtained at:

Syndicomm has also announced that they will be the new distributors for
Ewen Wannop's software.  These titles include the Spectrum v2.5.3 software
for telecommunications, Spectrum Automated Mailer, the Bernie ][ The
Rescue Starter Kit, and the TABBS Library Archive CD-ROM.  More
